Endorsing a Candidate

The Mount Kisco Democratic Committee has worked to build a respectful and serious process for reviewing all candidates seeking the Committee’s endorsement.

Endorsements requested from the Mount Kisco Democratic Committee routinely include candidates running for local Village office, County Legislature, State Assembly, State Senate, Governor, Congress, and the U.S. Senate.

Endorsements are also requested by candidates running for Supreme Court, County Court, and Family Court.

The process we have put in place includes multiple meetings, candidate presentations, and interviews that involve questioning by members of the Committee. The Committee also considers each candidate’s platform, qualifications, and viability in both the primary and general elections.

In the case of our endorsement of Cait Conley, this process was completed in full, just as it has been for candidates seeking the Committee’s endorsement in other races. The District Leaders then voted to endorse Cait Conley.

This is the normal work of a Town Committee, and we have worked diligently to ensure that the process is professional, thorough, and fair.
